I was across town visiting with our small group, when we got a call from one of the guys that had not come that night. He told us that there was a horrible storm heading our direction in about an hour and the winds were going to be 80-100mph. Needless to say I was a little bit freaked out after hearing that. Well, we quickly closed what ever discussion we were having and I got in my car to drive home. I did not take the following pictures, but this is pretty much what I saw on my way home...

I finally got ahold of Philip and he is cool about it, which is what I needed. I wasn't freaking out too bad... I was in our spare bathroom, in the tub, with every pillow and blanket we own... and Baxter of course (who was also not so excited about the storm). As I sat in the tub talking to Philip on the phone, it got extremely loud outside and I could hear things hitting the house... needless to say, I started bawling on the phone; which I'm sure made Philip feel oh so great about the situation. THEN... the power went off, which means the tv is off... so I have NO idea what is going on outside my house.
After about 30 minutes of freaking out and praying with Philip on the phone, it finally calmed down and so I made my way out of the bathroom with my candle lit and went to look outside. It still looked super eery, but I managed to get in bed with Baxter and eventually fall asleep.
I woke up this morning watching the news (the power came back on) and saw that a lot of people were not as fortunate as me.
This was my safe place for the evening...
